Our next Community Meeting will take place on Monday, 24 November, from 15:30 to 16:30 CET.
This time, we will be joined by Niels Raes (Naturalis Biodiversity Center), who will present Biodiversity Meets Data (BMD), an EU-funded project aiming to create a centralised Single Access Point (SAP) for natural resources managers and policymakers to support biodiversity conservation across Europe. After a broad introduction to the project, Niels (BMD’s project coordinator) will focus on its eDNA component.
Then, Eli Chadwick (University of Cambridge) will introduce the RO-CRATE profile being developed within the BGE project. RO-Crate is a mechanism for packaging research outputs with structured metadata, providing machine-readability and reproducibility FAIRly. BGE is developing an RO-Crate “profile” capturing metadata conventions within biodiversity genomics to enable metadata to be more interconnected and explorable across different databases.
The Community Meetings are free to join for all iBOL Europe members. You can join our community here – that’s also free!
