Who we are

iBOL Europe was established in 2021 in recognition of the need for synergy within the growing European DNA barcoding landscape. We are part of the global iBOL consortium and its BIOSCAN initiative.

  • What we do

iBOL Europe aims to support and develop DNA barcoding across Europe. We facilitate the production and exchange of FAIR data and information through meetings, events, our web portal and social media accounts.

iBOL Europe is supported by a secretariat and a coordination team funded through Biodiversity Genomics Europe. We are currently developing an organisation and governance structure aligned with iBOL and other international biodiversity initiatives.
