DNA technologies and genomic science are changing the way we manage, conserve, and use nature. Using DNA to measure and track diversity at both the species and genetic levels creates many opportunities, and reference libraries of DNA barcodes and genomes are essential for this work.
This BGE’s policy brief explains why ongoing investment and support are needed to build these reference libraries for European biodiversity, while sharing a long-term vision for the future.
