We are happy to share the launch of the iBOL Europe Working Groups, a new initiative to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange among the iBOL Europe community.
iBOL Europe’s mission is to support, coordinate, and strengthen the DNA-barcoding community in Europe, underpinning biodiversity monitoring and maximising outcomes, impact, and benefits.
About the Working Groups
The objectives of the Working Groups are to foster collaboration within the network, inform the community on priority topics, and contribute to the iBOL global mission.
The priority topics were identified in 2023, when we ran a survey among the community to indicate priority areas to focus on, and are:
- Data Standards
- Reference Library
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Citizen Science
- Training
- Capacity Building
Each Working Group will focus on one of these topics, and all iBOL Europe members can join them by expressing their interest via this form, which will be open until 20 October 2024.
The Terms of Reference provide more information about the Working Groups and their functioning.
⚠️ Please note that being a member of iBOL Europe is a prerequisite for joining the Groups. Non-members can join our community – and the Working Groups – free of charge via this form.
The iBOL Europe Working Groups will be critical in advancing cross-collaboration and cross-pollination among our members and ultimately feeding the global network.
We are excited about this opportunity to further nurture our community, and look forward to collaborating with our members.
